Need to take more pictures of her…
Need to take more pictures of her…
My hands are so cold now from being outside.
The October order came in about a week ago.
My cat’s just waiting to get into the box. He loves boxes.
So, for today, it’s 1/8 scale Noumi Kudryvka, from the visual novel turned TV series, “Little Busters!” ! She’s been one of my grails for a while now, and I finally found her for a good price on AmiAmi’s pre-owned section!
Her box is really nice looking, lots of cute pastels and dog paw prints.
She’s way too cute!!! The way her hair fans out behind her and the slightly spread arms… They suit a super cute girl like Noumi!
Those blue eyes spur from her Russian heritage. They’re a really nice blue!
Her hat connects to her head via a magnet, so it’s removable. I think she’s a lot cuter with it on though ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ
There’s not much worry about paint transfer, just a little bit of concern over that purple part on the underside of her hat. Even if it does transfer though, I don’t plan on displaying her without her hat, so it won’t be visible anyways.
Very happy with this purchase~ I found her for 6370 JPY on AmiAmi’s pre-owned section. She’s fairly easy to find, it just takes some searching and stalking of AmiAmi and Mandarake.
Yesterday, a package came! Two of the Yakumo girls are here; Yukari-sama will be arriving shortly. (A copy of Project Diva f is in there as well; that’s my brother’s.)
First up, Ran Yakumo!
The tails are a key point of her design. From the back, she looks really nice. Those tails are heavy!
Unfortunately, there are seam lines that are pretty visible from a side angle.
Fortunately, I have no plans to display her from that angle, and from the front she looks really nice.
Next up, it’s CHEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNN——
Chen is pretty small, so she’s not a figure I would display alone. She looks best with Ran and Yukari.
Ran and Chen look much better together than apart. Especially when you stick Chen on Ran’s base, instead of using Chen’s own base.
Chen has the classic Griffon base that’s OBNOXIOUSLY big. It’s like twice her size. Seriously.
The red of Chen’s dress really stands out against the blue of Ran’s blue…cloth thing. Only problem is that in photos, either you have Chen looking at the camera and Ran staring out into space, or Chen staring downwards and Ran looking at the camera. Decisions, decisions…
Chen photobomb START.
My kitten loved the boxes and the plastic wrap more than the figures though. (He did swat Chen’s bonnet around a few times, I guess.)
Quick post, need to finish some school work I’ve been procrastinating on…
Alter’s Shizuo Heiwajima came in the mail the other day after being delayed a week. Of course, it was over the August/September borderline, and thus, AmiAmi had to ship Shizuo separately. More shipping costs yay. I took the opportunity to pick up a few cheap prize figures to ship with Shizuo though, which I’ll take pictures of later.
Alter did a perfect job. From all the wrinkles in his clothes to the way that sign post looks ripped out of the ground, Shizuo looks awesome. I do wish he was in a more dynamic pose, but then again, he lines up better with their Izaya in this pose. (and we all know that’s what 60% of the buyers are getting him for, delicious Shizaya durr hurr.)
I’ll have more details later, but really Shizuo is great. If you’re looking for high quality male figures, and you don’t mind delays, Alter’s ALTAiR line is your best bet.
The mailman showed up at my front door a few minutes ago, and came with 2 packages! These would be my orders from the Shibuya (top box) and Complex Akihabara (bottom box) branches of Mandarake. Still waiting on 1 more from Umeda branch!
Mandarake always packages everything very securely. Lots of bubble wrap and paper fill the spaces within the box. My Shibuya order was small, only the Mayuri Shiina (Steins;Gate) nendoroid and the 桜の雨 CD single from halyosy’s group “absorb”.
Uwah. Sorry for the bad picture. This order is my most expensive so far; totaling 12,280 JPY including the shipping. This would be Alter’s 1/8 scale Uihara Kazari (Railgun), Kotobukiya’s 1/8 scale Kirino Kousaka (OreImo), Daioki’s Matome doujin (Touhou), 2 of Utsura Uraraka’s Touhou doujins, and パパンの小部屋’s (lol kanji) “Shoujo Koishi” Touhou doujin.
–I wasn’t aware that Daioki’s “Matome” is a compilation of most/all of their smaller doujinshi published before 2010~ Great surprise, since it’s a huge 146 pages altogether.
–Another interesting note, Kirino Kousaka is sculpted by Hiroshi (Sakurazensen), who also sculpted Rin Natsume, the first scale figure I ever bought. Hiroshi’s also the sculptor on the notorious Ultimate Madoka scale figure that releases in November… I think he’s become my favorite!
I have no willpower. I was thinking I wouldn’t get Shizuo, because I didn’t go for Izaya, and I wish they did a more dramatic pose. But then today I thought “Hey, it’s Shizuo.”
And I do love Shizuo.
And it’s Alter, so he’ll be good quality. Almost hoping he gets delayed to September though, right now August order is seriously $385 at current exchange rate, WITHOUT EMS SHIPPING.
(◕‿◕✿) I did a bad thing, here.
